The Smart4wrd Ecosystem connects Malaysia’s smart manufacturing ecosystem through collaborative efforts, bringing together manufacturers, technology providers, financial institutions, talent centres, business service providers, and government agencies to accelerate the adoption of smart manufacturing through automation, advanced technologies, and ESG practices.
Since its establishment in late 2021, Smart4wrd has fostered industry collaboration through various initiatives, including online forums, Industry 4.0 surveys, seminars, trade and factory visits, awards programmes, and active engagement with government stakeholders.
CAPE EMS Berhad was selected to host the programme in recognition of its expertise in advanced electronics manufacturing, automation, digitalisation, and energy-efficient operations.
The programme included sharing sessions by Ir. Jeff Cheah, Facility Manager of CAPE EMS Berhad, who presented a session titled “Smart Manufacturing Journey Sharing”, outlining the Company’s practical approach towards implementing smart manufacturing and energy-efficient practices within its operations. This was followed by another session - Mr. Vincent Low, Co-founder of G-Energy Group, with the title “Save up to 80% Energy – Believe It or Not?”, where energy optimisation opportunities within manufacturing facilities was discussed.
During the visit, participants were given a tour of the Chiller Plant and Air Handling Unit (AHU) Energy Optimiser control system, where insights were shared on energy management practices and sustainability initiatives supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
The Smart Factory Insight Visit concluded with an exchange of insights between participants and speakers, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and practical learning in advancing Malaysia’s manufacturing transformation agenda.
