SMT ENGINEER
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the setup, installation, commissioning, servicing, maintaining and application support of equipment at customer sites.
Provide technical support and after sales service to customers
Provide on-site programming by converting raw customer data into SMT-compatible data for SMT machines.
Participate actively in hardware installation and setup for new equipment purchased by customers.
Conduct analysis of equipment performance, hardware issues, and preventive maintenance and repair data to optimize operations.
Carry out periodic maintenance and update programming tools on computers to ensure smooth functioning.
Assist in setting up production lines, performing preventive maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting SMT equipment
Support general technical tasks related to production, maintenance of machinery, tools, equipment, and mechanical assembly processes.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the case of breakdowns.
Approve all SMT process activities of new models, setups, and engineering changes.
Knowledge of AOI and SPI will be an advantage.
Understand CAD coordinate conversion from customer formats to machine CAD coordinates for accurate programming.
Closely follow up on test evaluations and control runs.
Report and provide feedback on any problems encountered during operations.
Troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency.
Monitor production line efficiency and performance.
Consolidate and analyze daily and weekly reports.
Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 1 year of service experience in the electronics industry.
Knowledge of SMT processes and applications is an advantage.
Relevant experience and knowledge in SMT electronics industries, including SMT equipment, reflow, wave soldering, selective soldering etc.
Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills.
Programming and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel locally and overseas.
Ability to provide on-site training to customers and offer 24/7 on-call support for customer issues on site.
